Eligibility criteria for the World Elite Mastercard Credit Card

To apply for the World Elite Mastercard Credit Card, Riyad Bank requires enrollment in a specific client segment, in addition to the standard documentation for credit products in the country, as we see below.

✔️ Be classified as a Private Banking or Family (Private) client of Riyad Bank to access the World Elite Mastercard Credit Card
✔️ Provide a copy of a valid Saudi national ID (Saudi nationals) or a valid Iqama/passport (foreign residents)
✔️ Provide an income certificate stating the start date of employment, for salaried professionals
✔️ Submit the application at a bank branch, through Riyad Online, or via the customer service center

It’s worth noting that this classification as a Private Banking or Family Private client is the central eligibility criterion disclosed by the bank — there is no promise of automatic approval in the published conditions, nor any indication that the product is open to any applicant. Because of this, before gathering documents, confirm with Riyad Bank itself whether your relationship with the institution already qualifies you for this segment.

Riyad Bank’s history and reliability

Founded in 1957, Riyad Bank is one of the oldest financial institutions in the country, having closely followed the modernization of the Saudi banking system since the early years of the oil era. Over nearly seven decades of operation, the bank has established itself as one of the largest financial institutions in Saudi Arabia by asset volume, with significant participation from the Saudi government in its share capital.

The bank operates under the supervision of SAMA (Saudi Central Bank), the authority responsible for regulating and overseeing the country’s financial system, including rules on transparency, minimum capital, and consumer protection. This regulation is a relevant safety factor for anyone considering taking out any credit card in the Saudi market, including the World Elite Mastercard Credit Card, as it reduces the risk of abusive practices and maintains oversight mechanisms over fees and charges.

Advice for you!

Since the World Elite Mastercard Credit Card carries an annual fee of SAR 1,500 (waived only for Private Banking clients) and an APR of 34.46% per year on the revolving balance, the first step before applying is to confirm whether you truly qualify for the segment required by the bank.

Applying for the card without meeting this qualification could mean paying a high annual fee for benefits you may not fully enjoy, which reinforces the importance of planning before acting. And that’s why you should choose a card that rewards your current lifestyle.

If approved, plan the use of the World Elite Mastercard Credit Card with caution: prioritize paying your statement in full every month, avoid cash withdrawals (subject to a 3% fee), and monitor your international spending, which carries an additional 1.90% charge on the transaction amount. Used this way, the card tends to work as a benefits and financial organization tool, and not as a source of debt in your monthly budget.
